| About Women Travel New Zealand |
What is womentravel.co.nz?
Women Travel NZ was set up in 2000 to provide a way of advertising the growing number of women-owned and run businesses offering accommodation, adventures, tour and retreats for women to discover the magic and unique environment of Aotearoa/ New Zealand.
These are mostly small women-run businesses. Some are for women only, a few are for lesbians only and some welcome everyone, while catering especially for the needs of the woman traveller.
Since 2000 we have revamped the WTnz website 5 times, and have introduced the other websites that you see on the right.

Goals of womentravel.co.nz
To establish and market a NZ based web site consisting of a network of operators offering travel opportunities which are particularly welcoming of women and attuned to their needs.
The site may also include a few businesses which while not necessarily women run, offer something unique to the woman traveller.
We are committed to providing women-run tourism ventures with
- a web site they can be proud to be a part of
- a web site which is actively marketed on the web and in non web media
- management which is responsive to operators needs
- regular feedback on the site to operators
We are committed to giving women travellers access to travel opportunities in New Zealand which offer:
- warm and generous hospitality
- local information to make any trip the richer
- safely managed adventure trips
- environmentally friendly practices
- environments free from harassment of any kind
- respect for Maori as the original people of this land
- management which is responsive to the needs of women travellers
What women Travel is not...
- we are not a travel agent
- we do not run tours or accommodation
- we do not take bookings or commission
- we are not a google advertising site
- we do not list everyone who wants to be listed
We exist simply to let women know in an independent way of all the great opportunities for women travellers that exist - you contact the businesses directly. You are in charge.
