Walk through two river valleys along old logging tracks, spend the night in Te Mara Lodge, next day oin up with one of the numerous old logging tracks that weave around this historical area, from which you will get some wonderful views over the Wairarapa. The walk is a two-night, three-day walk (other options can be discussed with Shona). The first night is spent in a comfortable cabin nestled in beautiful virgin bush, where the dawn chorus will take you back in time. Night two is even more spectacular --- its a group of unique cabins overlooking a lovely river valley. Here the spa pool is something else! Imagine sliding into the spa with a glass of wine in your hand, nothing beats it after a long day on the trail.

Learn the art of sea kayaking while absorbing the breathtaking beauty the Bay of Islands offers. Tranquil and isolated beaches, superb coastal scenery and fascinating Maori archaeology await you. This is the cradle of European settlement in New Zealand and a focal point for Maori as it was here that the Treaty of Waitangi was signed. What sets it apart also is the ease with which you can get out among the islands. You will stay on Urupukapuka Island and explore Motuarohia, Motukiekie, Okahu, Waewaetorea and Moturua. The latter offers a network of walks through bush alive with spotted kiwi, saddlebacks and North Island robins. All islands have protected beaches on one side and dramatic rock formation with sea caves, arches and narrow passageways on the ocean side. Paddling times between islands range from 15 to 45 minutes. We have an experienced local woman guide leading this trip.

Join us for this fantastic kayaking experience. Leaving from Bucklands Beach, we visit Browns Island for lunch, kayak over to Motuihe to explore and stay the night, then kayak the short distance over to Rangitoto the next morning for our climb to the summit, lunch and kayak back to Bucklands Beach.
